Challenge: Show me Vintage Holiday Decor!

Greetings Fellow Autumnal Blogfriends! I have a challenge! Tell me...
How did you start living a vintage life? I just remember always feeling more "comfy" and at home around the forties fifties and before that decor. Also, always remembering how my Grandma's house made me feel. The red kitchen, Aunt Ida's Pink and Grey kitchen, the big plumed wall paper and the mohair couches in maroon and grey. All of this and the fact that things just seemed to mean more then. Not to "dys" the modern day, just to hold on to enough of the home, family and love around the table, (formica?) to keep it close to our hearts.

Does your vintage decorating interests spill over into your Holiday Decor? If so, Show It!!!

There's NOTHING I like better than being able to see other peoples vintage decor!!!

I moved so much most of my life that things would get 'discarded' and so now I'm a real lover of vintage. Wish I had more Halloween vintage but your items are pretty awesome! Hugs, Linda

Unfortunately, I can't find much vintage Halloween down here in the deep South due to a belief that Halloween is a celebration of the devil. Those fun Baptists at it again. And what I do find is too expensive. I have bought several Halloween spunhead characters from Magpie Ethel and will be bringing them out soon, but right now it's just too freaking hot to think about it almost being Fall. I go more crazy vintage for Xmas, anyway, so I'll just revel in everyone else's stuff.

yes Christine-it's getting harder to find everywhere! The plastic stuff is as vintage as it gets, but I still love it because it reminds me of my childhood!LOL

I set up a blo-mold group like yours this year (we have some of the same ones!) I will have to take a picture and do a post on it before my kids knock them all over...

Like Christine, it's so freaking hot here still, I have not taken any holiday stuff out yet. Sucks because I love Halloween! Love your stuff!!

As for vintage, I grew up in a home where everything was pretty much second hand back then, so I grew up in 40's - 60's stuff. I was shopping thrift stores and yard sales as a kid, so I grew to love it early on, and because it was affordable for someone who only had a few coins when I was a kid.

Boy do I wish I had a few more dollars back then, because you could find 30's-50's stuff ALL over those thrift shops back then! Of course I didn't have a house to furnish either, so I doubt I would have bought a lot regardless. Bit I do remember one place being loaded with everything from furniture to clothes and all for cheap! Oh how I wish I could go back in time and shop there now!

Yes, 50's atomic! I do too! I passed up tons of cool fifties because I thought I had to have Art Deco at one time! Crazy! Good to hear from you!
