room divider
I moved my bedroom to the back room for more privacy and space a while back and made my former bedroom off the living room a dining area. The only problem was no DOOR! How's that for planning? Anyway, I have had my eye on some folding screens, the kind old hospitals used -metal two panels that fold out and on wheels...hmmmm...I could cover the white generic panels with....BARKCLOTH! Guess what I brought home this weekend!? You got it. Here is a rough preview like all of my pictures are, with the barkcloth just hanging over the screen to give you an idea. When I need a door, I'll just roll it on over!

I like your idea for the divider. I found a sweet 1960 divider on ebay which I LOVE so much (the kind you see that separates the kitchen from the dinette or living room from the "Bar" or whathave you) but the problem is it is one with those intricate patterns all throughout so it is a magnet for major dust. MAJOR dust. I wish they made something that literally repelled dust completely.
Thanks! Glad you stopped by and checked out the blog. I love talking to fellow retro ladies and gents! I almost got a divider like youre talking about from my work. It was kind oriental, which I love! Then, they sold it, so I came up with the idea to use the folding one. Zootsuitmama
