New Job Finally!~!

I finally started a new job today!! It's been so weird not being full time employed, I almost have to pinch myself! Can't wait to fix up my retro office! Pictures later! I am so grateful.

My new office actually has a WINDOW!!

Not the best pix as usual!  But you can get an idea of how the bar is placed in the living room. I really love it, but may end up selling it due to space issues! We'll see. Got a box full of Oriental figures last weekend for $4!

Formica is one of my many weaknesses, as you can see! Guess I'll be getting my brown fringed chair back from my daughter, just in time for Fall! Snuggly!

New cool find!

found this at a local thrift! It's even cooler in the right light! Obviously homemade, but awesome bar!

the sun is on the shiny vinyl material, but -but it's kinda padded. It has diamond shaped designs, all vinyl!

T his is the inside. A little clean up needed, but a lot of storage space! I'll show the pix in the living room tomorrow!~ My camera's bad enough in the daylight!~ But, it looks amazing! All for $23.00!

Another peaceful evening draws to a close... I haven't really posted much about thrift store finds lately, mostly because I've been up to my ears in stuff after emptying the storage space! I had a garage sale (yawn)..I should have advertised...but made a dent in some of the stuff I don't think is "etsy" material. Just thinking about adding more to the stash was not at all appealing. But, I finally stopped at a few last week and here's some of what I found:

So, some cool things! I think I got the metal swan dish before last week, but it is so different, I just had to show it! Til later...have a good Monday!

Seems like Summer is passing us by quickly!

I heard that some schools were returning to the classroom last week!

But it seems like Summer shouldn't be over yet. I do love the cooler weather, but I'm not ready to give up the homegrown tomatoes. It seemed like Summer drifted on forever when I was a kid! I trimmed the Basil back and made our favorite sandwich, Grilled cheddar cheese sandwich with fresh pesto and home grown tomatoes! My daughter loves them too, so I made them for all of us Wednesday!

I'm trying not to project and get all melancholy, but I looked at the date and thought, August is almost half way over!

There's always a new season and I love the excitement of Fall, but I'm trying to hold on a little longer to Summer's fresh veggies and city markets!  Hope you're all enjoying the weekend!

Cooler Summer day

The dog days of Summer have been upon us, and Ziggy thinks it was way past time for a cool change! So this morning, I woke up to some clouds, a little sprinkle and lower temps! Yeah! I even felt like cleaning before midnight. Changed things around to make it less "heavy" feeling. I put my saucer chair in the living room, and my new pink and black formica end table! Chenille bedspreads, formica, open windows and a nice tune on the radio! These things all say Summer to me!

Well, I even opened up some windows!

I must say, I feel a little like an old fogey. Mom always looks at my fifties stuff and says, "Why do you want this old junk?" I mean, she got over it when she bought her Mediterranean furniture! So, the 70's stuff is kind of like that to me! But, it grows on me..and even looks cool when mixed with mid century. I have been surprised that such an interest has been given to these items on my Etsy.

Susie QT got me obsessing about my (and others) blo molds yesterday -see her post yesterday! She scored some awesome blo mold Halloween items, so I thought I'd do a post about them and get everyone else obsessed! I love these things and can't have too many! I mean more is better, right? Just look at Magpie Ethel's Santas ...further down on page! What an impact! How happy to walk up on a porch and be greeted by all of her light up Santas, especially the one peeking out of the picture window !
