I have a few that I'm going to sell, either too big or too little..but really cute. Some have never been worn. But I am developing quite the collection. The best lpart is - I worked two blocks from my house, and the ex co workers drive by all the time, seeing me in my "house coats"! I'll bet they're saying, Poor Deb, she's really gone down hill". LOL! NOT!! I'm planting the gardens, painting and taking care of a lot of things I have wanted to do for a while. Am I worried? A little. But I know that my higher power is not gonna drop me now. I just don't want to get too comfy in this role! I have always liked being home. Have a great weekend, and let's see your housedresses!

howdy from the desk of Zootsuitmama
Pay no attention to the unfinished floor~~ lol! Or, the bare outlet (Danger Will Robinson!) I am always in progress on one room or another. In the meantime, I found a spider bite on me last night! Gross, but I wanted to show ya. I'll bet it's a brown recluse. Getting ready to go to the doc right now. Hope not, because I think I may have a new job. I thought I was just tired and sore from camping!

What will you do today? Happy Memorial Day!
I cleaned my deck off last night, or finished doing it! It's so nice to sit down and enjoy knowing it's all swept and a fresh tablecloth and chenille bedspread is on the glider. I got really comfy last night, with a great breeze blowing across the back yard. Today, I am taking my other glider outside. I've had it in the dining room, for extra seating, besides, it's cute!
But, I am making room for my new chairs, tired of the clutter! I think I am bringing up another formica table to go with the chairs. I have had the blonde boomerang legged one in there, but I think it's time for a change.. and, formica tables just remind me of Summertime when I was a kid! So cool and clean..I gave my green set to my daughter when she got her own place.
Now, I can use my turquoise chairs out on the deck.
But there's always the weeds in the garden to deal with, especially after all the rain we've been having. After all, I want the tomatoes to look like they did last year (above)!Me? I'm definitely hanging out with my doggies-Angel, Baby, and Ziggy! I may even take a cue from what they're doing right now, napping after breakfast. That breeze on the deck is very seductive.

Camping fun!!
My trip to my friends property was really nice! Believe it or not, I had never slept out in a tent before! My daughter and her boyfriend went too! Evey thing tastes better cooked outdoors. I wish my little trailer would have been ready to take, but it was still fun. They are in the woods so far back it's crazy! My dog Baby was having a blast, too. The other two stayed home. Maybe next time, but I wanted to see what one would do. She stayed with us, when we didn't have her on a tie out. My daughter pointed out this picture looks like I hunted her and she was my "catch"...Not the way I meant it to look~!
Here, she looks alive, at least. LOL
Bryan, my daughter's boyfriend, by their tent.

I am gonna start practicing in my little trailer, until I get her roadworthy!
Hope you all have a great Memorial day!

Finally got my new chairs!
Ok, so I feel kind of like a traitor. I ordered these new chairs back around January, and they have been on back order. I finally got them yesterday. As I was carrying the old chrome and cracked ice vinyl to the basement until they can be recovered, etc. I couldn't help feeling sad. I am tired of having to cover flaws and feel bad because I haven't taken time to recover them, but it is also nice not to have to worry about the cover falling off when someone sits down, revealing cracks and tears!Of course, the new chairs are NOT the same, but...they are pretty close and comfy! What do you all think?

China Cabinet Change/ Dining room redo part one

I've been meaning to do this for a while now. The dishes I found at the thrift store have been sitting in my van in a box and I finally took time to bring them in. The are the Colorcraft Jamaica Bay pattern, by Taylor, Smith and Taylor...with green and turquoise, and they match my other dishes well, so I redid the china cabinet in turquoise and white.
Tonight, I'll pick an apron winner...don't forget to enter by posting one on your blog and letting me know!

That's one thing about getting older, you can laugh at yourself! Anywho, I am now enjoying my housecoats as my grandma would have called them. Some of them are house dresses. But the ones I've been wearing are more house coats.

or, cooking out on the ole bar-b-q?

my friend's pop up.
This is the picnic table. To the left is where their RV was and burned to the ground. They have another one, but haven't got it down there yet.
This is a view of the Lake, through the clearing of trees. It's hard to see...

This cute jar has three decals of anthopomorphic fruit/veggie faces.
I have a real thing for the chalkware stuff lately, and the fruity faces, so here's some more~

At first I thought they were Temporama, but a little research and I found the Colorcraft dishes...very similar pattern, though.
