Remember the 80's? What was cool about them was the vintage styles bands like the Go-Gos, B-52s, Motels, and Cyndy Lauper brought into the spotlight. Me and my friends were already into vintage, but these gals made the vintage clothes stores popular again!
I found this LIFE magazine at the thrift store with Liz Taylor at 50:much to my surprise all the other pix were also inside -1982...Girl Rockers.
I also remember the retro 40's styles that came out then. You could find knock offs of dresses like from the WWII era everywhere! Oh well, what goes around comes around. It was some fun music, though!
Also found this weekend:

I love to find old magazines, they bring back such cool memories! Fun finds this weekend. Linda
Oh yeah! The 80's! Best time of my life. I loved everything about the 80's, the music, the clothes, the hairstyles. I wouldn't wear that stuff now, but back then the fashion was crazy and fun!
Yes it does, but I didn't know what it was, Cheetah! Tammy, I remember finding some pictures in my eighties leggings and oversize tops...very humorous! Thanks for stopping by Linda!
Love the nursery rhyme curtains - so cute! And I SO relate to the doggie dust bunnies. If I didn't adore my fur kids so much, well, let's just say I adore them but not the daily brooming. It makes my heart sing to see how many young girls are into vintage style fashion. Those were classy clothes!
I hated the 80's--the clothing, the hair, the music (excepting, of course, "Sexual Healing")--and now it's already VINTAGE? Just went to a vintage clothing store and that's what's selling with the high school and college crowd--here I was, looking for something Ethel Mertz-y and instead I'm seeing leg warmers and shoulder pads and horrible prom dresses! You always find good stuff, even if it's just a soap dish!
Thanks spongey and christine...I know, the music that's considered classic was the music playing last time I went to the bars!LOL...
