I love pastels and I love bold colors. But it wasn't until not too long ago that I began to mix them. I had always wanted LuRa y pastels, but also Fiesta. Now, I mix and match, and love the results.
Here is a mix of Fireking mugs, Melmac dishes and some turquiose and white
dinerware.
This was a honey container in another life! I love the palm tree and the yellow and green.
I try to buy all the plastic utensils like this turquoise scoop that I find!

I love those melmac dishes and those classes are fun, i am terrible for collecting 50's drinking glasses i have stripes, colours anything goes as far as im concerned ;-)dee x
That's me delia! I can't pass em up, they are soooo much cooler than anything new! Straight talkin' thanks! I esp love it in the Summer when I use my more "tropical" dishes. Stay tuned for my flamingo cannisters!
I love the way you mix and match. Mom was like that, but for some reason, I got the "gotta match" gene or something. I keep her old bedroom much like she had it, with a mostly pink color scheme, but a little bit of everything she loved (roses, angels, dolls, pretty things, books, perfume bottles etc etc). She even mixed Country style with Colonial and shabby chic and trendy. Whatever she liked, she bought!
But the rest of my rooms are strict matching colors. Well, or trying to be ha ha ha.
Oh hey, I have that same love bird wall sconce! I love it when vintage stuff turns up in other places! Cute items.
Thanks Amber, great minds think alike!and, 50's atomic, I go through phases. Sometimes I match and lately I've been trying to mix. One thing that I saw that got me in this mode is the Retro Redheads website. I love the way they mix colors on their tablecloth pages. The prettiest was red and turquoise! It looked great!
