Happy New Year

Looking back at all the stuff I used to have before 5 moving sales! Wow! I always get "verklempt" after taking down my Christmas anyway. Searching for all my "regular" stuff is wierd, because I take everything out in Sept. to put up Halloween, then don't see it again til Jan.! I haven't taken new pix yet, but will tonight. Until then, bask in the glory of some oldies!

Hello all! I am sitting here debating on whether to go out to the store because the ice has already started here in Independence, Mo. Then, 5 or more inches of snow is supposed to fall. Two days ago, it was in the sixties! That's Missouri! I had posted some more pix  and some were duplicates while some are upside down! Trying again...

This is my Frosty I have had since I was little.
My smaller aluminum tree with old and new ornaments -finally bought a new colorwheel on my Autumn trip to Weston at the old time hardware store!
I made some swags out of tablecloths and fastened some of my vintage brooches on them. Usually I hang heavier vintage drapes, but wanted something lighter this year!
This is the pix that came out upside down. It's my collection of vintage stencils still in package, some flocked bells from Ben Franklin with tags and wrappers in tact, and ribbons, and of course ole HARRY TRUMAN shopping on the Independence square in the fifties.

Moon shelf in my bedroom with flocked Santas and elves.
Mid century metal candle holder with plastic trimmings and velvet bow. In bedroom...
Plaid in bathroom.

Parade of Santas and Candle blomolds in living room on my Magnovox stereo console.

Flocked Mrs. Santa from Woolworths.

And flocked Mr. Santa from same package, Woolworths. (both bespeckaled!)

Some of my ceramic carolers and my Its' a Wonderful life town my son got
me a few years back...and my little white fiberoptic tree from Dollar General about 10years ago...they had the cutest ones with candles that say Noel, candy canes and ornaments that lit up. The base rotates and says Merry Christmas in the color that is on at the time.

well...more later.

Visit to Oklahoma

Getting ready to head home -wanted to show the "mountain" where my sis lives. Really peaceful and the air is so clean! Last night we had steak, lobster, shrimp (cooked out on the grill) and baked potatoes, green bean salad, german chocolate cake and ice cream. So full I am afraid to put my clothes on. Probably wouldn't fit without the elastic waist! It was really nice to get away and not have to wake up to an alarm clock. But, missin' my hounds and need to get on the road. My sis has different taste than me in decor, but really pretty stuff. Not retro or vintage...lol. Pix of the mountain and my sisters' house.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I am in Oklahoma at my sisters house. Me, Mom and my youngest son Matt all drove down yesterday morning. It's nice to get away for a couple of days, but I miss my doggies! Well, I will post some pix of the trip tonight, but these are some Christmas pix from the past. Enjoy!

Happy Hallow'een at the Zoot Suit Place

Finally getting my new place on the blog, just in time for Halloween! I love my peek a boo window into the kitchen from the living room. I got lucky last week and found an apple tree that the neighbor wasn't going to be able to use the apples and picked a couple of crates full. Last weekend I peeled and cooked a ton, made and canned apple butter, pie, apple bread, and saved the peels to cook on the stovetop with cinnamon to smell up the house! It smelled so Fall-like! And the results of the applebread and pies were yummy, too! As a lot of my fellow bloggers know, this is my fav time of the year. I am soooooo excited to be going to Weston Missouri for the Apple fest with my family next Saturday. I hope to be posting pix again then. Hope you all are having a great start to Autumn!
