Snow, lazy dogs and a trip to the hospital

Sorry to post such a downer but, anyone else tired of Winter? My bloodpressure went sky high Thursday and I ended up in the hospital, sent home last night with very few answers and now it's snowing again. At least my dogs are a comfort to me. I used to love blogging, and sharing my vintage things, but some idiot wants to ruin that too...and has started leaving horrible nasty comments. I think I have figured out how to stop this? I see other people have their blog set so there is a way to block out these comments, but I don't remember how. Help! I love my blog and blog friends, and want this to stop!!

Orange cha glad I didn't say Banana?

Just a quicky post to show you my new living room colors
I brought out the Fall curtains and I'm going to accent with turquoise! Just need a change. The barkcloth plumed drapes and flamingos are going to my bedroom!

Something about these sixties printed curtains are really appealing to me lately...If I remember right, they came out of some really low budget catalogs...definitely not the caliber of barkcloth, but I think they are sooooo fun

and the sixites harlequins...too!

time....for a new post

I think too much time has passed since my last post!so I thought I'd let ya know what I've been up to. I have been trying to brighten up the place, so I used the cheapo option, paint! I have brought out the fishies for the Spring and Summer, got a cool cheap shower curtain and voila! instant cheery!

my son Matt getting ready to dig us out last week, Ziggy the dog watching!
I plan to spruce up some other areas of the house with good ole spray paint, now that the weather is getting warmer and all the monstrous snow is melting. All the sudden, I'm all about color! I dug up this Harlequin plaque when I was searching through the basement! Love it!Well, if anyone is still interested in the ballerina give a way, Show me what you're doing to prepare for Spring, and mention my blog!

HOT CHA CHA!

I love my recent thrifting finds! Blurry, but these are my fav! Haven't found anything like these dancers for a while! Of course, I always have a weakness for the chalk stuff, Miller studios especially. I'm trying to find enough small ones to go around my whole kitchen like a border. A while back I found this skillet with roosters and farm scenes ...I looked at it for a few weeks until they marked it down.  OOO, don't look at the grease on my counter top, didn't see that until I took the pix! LOL! These cute handmade dolls for Valentine went straight to Etsy shop, but I love em! So cute and original. I wonder if someone made them for their Grandkids? I need to announce a new prize for the giveaway, too! I'll figure that out today while I'm going through my stuff!

Hey Hey!!! Time for a Give a Way!

Hey all! I saw a post at RetroRenovation a few weeks back about formica tables. So...I want to see all of yours! Just mention my blog and you will be entered in a drawing. I will reveal what the item is later today, but the more pix you post, the more entries! I just sold my green formica last week, and I miss it so much, but it went to a great home. I have so many, I really need to sell more. But, can't pass em up, ya know! Right now, I have my $15. 00 red and grey in my dining area. It is wooden with a grey formica top and chrome legs. The only problem it has is the leaf is a little warped, but without it -it's awesome. My daughter has dibs on it for when she has a house, but I'm lovin' it now. Reallllly cottagy!

Well, more later, but Show me those formicas! I'm from Missouri, so Show Me!

These pix are part of the annual transformation back to the pastels and bright colors that I love. After Christmas, don't ya just long for a little less clutter? Of course, many people think this is extreeeeme clutter, but you vintage blog lovers understand me, right??
The only thing is, I can't find everything that I took down waaaaaayyyyy back in September when I put out my Fall and Halloween! It's still a work in progress. And the crummy camera is still the only one I have. Stay tuned for the rest of the house!

Goodbye to my Christmas World, Hello retro wonderland!

It's a wonderful life houses and diamond lamp on barkcloth!
What a mess!! I am taking down Christmas. I don't mind telling you, it's SAD! I planned to leave it up for a couple of more weeks to enjoy after the mad swirl of activity, but had a day off today and have been looking at too many cool blogs that I want to model after...with no holiday decor! I'll show you the after when I'm done! This is a parting shot at Zoots' Christmas decor 2012 taken with a realllllly cheap camera! But my friend is sending me another one. Until then, Happy new Year! And, three more days to enter the Santa blomold drawing!
