Rock picture, the find of the weekend!

Most of you know my living room, aka,"The Opium den"...I found this rock picture, and my photography and cheap camera doesn't do it justice, but it is gorgeous! Pinks, golds, etc..made from tiles, rocks, gravel and other objects!

One end is a mountain and a tree-

the other end is a pagoda.

I found another one at the same time, it's a peacock on a limb. Awesome -but it was made to be in my daughter's pad! Pix later. The fun part is I had been seeing them for 3 weeks in the back of a thrift store, but refused to pay $25.00 a piece for them. They are worth it, but this is a place that usually is cheapo cheapo! They took 60% off, and then the lady lowered it to seven dollars a piece if I bought them both!

Spring?

Well, I woke up this morning to about 4 inches of snow. The weekend was pretty nice, so it's not expected to stay around long, and I hope not -because I am working on my deck/back porch, Springing forward!I dug out all my pinks and other pastel tableclothes...got all my bright bird vases, etc. out of storage and went thrifting to try and find some inspiration...

I found some goodies, some of which I'll post tonight. But this little planter pot that I bought because it was yellow, turned out to have an owl on the front, made up by flowers. It's marked Roseville. I just liked it.As you can see, I also collect bright colored vases -

Can you see the owl? I didn't at first. Also, I tried putting my vintage decals on my metal kitchen cabinet, and it sort of fell apart. I decided to leave it, though, because it looks like it's been there a long time!

Well, it's Monday, so I'd better start getting ready for work.. Have

It's hard to see how neat these are, but they have different twenties movie stars, like Rudolf Valentino, on the inside. You can see them through the little "windows". The outside have flappers, Charlie Chaplin, etc...and say "Roaring Twenties". There are four..and they will be part of the give a way...

Tablecloths

I love to look at other's tables, table settings and tablecloths. At the online shop Retro Redheads, they always have the cutest table settings that match and enhance the tablecloths. I'd like to see your collections! Tonight, I will try to take some better pix of tablecloths and settings. Show me yours!!

It is warmer here, and this weekend I will rake my garden and hopefully till it to get ready for planting some lettuce and other goodies!

Decals!!

I can almost see the bins of rows of decals at my local Ben Franklin, and it hasn't been that long ago.When they took my favorite place away, it was like a part of my childhood died. Woolworth has been long gone from the Square. It lasted longer, I think until 1995 or 1996, at the Blue Ridge Mall. I was there the last day it was open, sitting at the snack bar. Decals just add something vintage like no other. Not new looking ones, but swans, baskets of fruit, or nursery rhymes.

Meyercord is the most often found. I got two large flower basket/vegetable baskets today. Also, the nursery rhymes one. So cute! Like the graphics in the old children's books, they just have a different feel.

Why, you can even decal your Beetle!

This flower basket is on my kitchen cabinet doors.

I think I'll put the large ones I found tonight on the white metal cabinets in the kitchen! Decals can be fun, boys and girls!
