I've been preoccupied with my Granddaughters, up from Florida and their Dad, my son... Did find time to get some junkin' done, moved some furniture around, cleaned, moved another couch and chair in, (and it's awesome)!
Need to take more pictures of it - you can't see it in these.... More tomorrow, just checkin' in!

All my blog friends are gonna think I forgot them. I found out a few packages I sent out for the winners of the contest were sent back. I got a notice in my mailbox on Saturday, but can't tell which ones they are until I go up and look today. Rest assured, I will resend.

I love trashcans that are pink, match my hamper, and have funny little doodad ornaments like starbursts on them!I used to have a silver chrome reading light til I found this pink one!

Of course, here's vanity stuff in pink plastic!

Living room chair...you guessed it PINK!Hamper etc...PINK!flamingo flock, pink.

As you can see, I really AM in the pink...ok, mostle flamingos, but also other items! I don't know about you all , but pink is my favorite vintage color. I only wish I could have a pink bathroom and kitchen like my Aunt Ida. I do have the pink and grey formica table, but will have to wait for the perfect spot.

The sun was going down on another day. The garden's been watered, and time to wind down.

Hmmmm...this looks like a comfy spot. I just couldnt believe someone would put this vintage aluminum lounge chair out for the trash!

But wait...Mr. Ziggy has managed to get free! There goes that relaxation idea!

 He goes straight for the fountain!This will be my bottle tree. When I'm done, the bottles on the tomato stakes will clang together in the wind.

This is the strangest and cutest plant I've ever seen, called the Bat Plant. The flower looks just like a little bat face!

Well more tomorrow, time to rest, -like Ziggy-PS, He did come in. I bribed him with a car ride!

More stuff!

This was my ad for my shop. I ran acrossed it looking for pictures. It makes me kinda sad, but it was really just toooo much. These fireking mugs are turquiose blending into white. I'd never seen them before!

These two boxes are plastic. The weird thing is I found out Russell Stovers used to come in them, cuz the sticker is still on em.

This lamp was sitting at Salvation Army for a week before I broke down and bought it. Cheapo, too.

This airline ad is a reproduction, but I like to put it up in the Summer in the bathroom.

Enough for one night...as you can see, I need some practice with the camera.

Hello there all! I finally got a camera and can post again! I posted about 50's atomic winning my give a way a few days ago, and wanted to show what she won!

It's a vintage tablecloth, the map kind, of some European crests and maps of (I think)Germany. It still has the stickers on it, has NEVER been used or washed, and the colors are Fab! Hope you like it, cuz I sent it today!!!!!

I picked some cherry tomatos and green beans this morning. Some were still too small to pick, but probably in a couple of days!

This lovely item is a tray I received yesterday in the mail from Roxanne aka Cheetah Velour! Thank you SOOO much! It has taken it's place beside all my other "mingos" in my bedroom! I was so excited afer having been at a Crisis Management class all day! It really cheered me up!

Laundry room update

Hey all! I hope your 4th was a blast! (ha ha, get it??) Mine was ok, no big plans. I think I'll start now planning next years party, so I won't feel like I didn't make the most of the holiday! Anywho, I am coming along with my laundry room. I painted, arranged and even found some cute little signs, etc. But, my camera is not working!! So, the only thing I could post was these retro clothes pins and my little plastic ringer washer. I will find my old camera today and take more. Still welcoming your vintage laundry stuff. I love ideas! Also, one more day to post on how to deal with boredom with your "stuff". I'll pick a winner tomorrow!!! Tues.

I got a feeling called the blah ha ha ...oh Lord...what will I do!

Do any of you get to a point where you look at your "stuff"-or a room, and think, "it just doesn't look good" anymore. Of course, it's the same room you fell in love with two weeks ago, or a month ago, after you got something new, and/or rearranged around it? Then, it's as if it all just looks boring. How do you deal with it? I know, it's our nature to go look for "more stuff"...that's a given. But, do you rearrange, paint? What?

Last night, I got the "Itch" to redecorate around 10pm. Not good. I moved my bedroom to the back of the house after Christmas, and love it! But slowly but surely, it started looking blah. So...I moved all the furniture out from the walls, cleaned gigantic dog hair tumbleweeds, put away some "finds" that I haven't found a place for yet, etc. It looked, once again, good as retronew! I also felt better because it was so clean! I hate thinking about breathing 3 dogs dog hair, but to seriously move everything and clean every day is just not doable with my life. So I slept better and really like the way I have it...for now. So, tell me about your hints when you feel in a rut with your vintage retro furnishings! There will be a prize for the best story!
These are rather dim pictures..but you get my drift!

Oh and P.S. - I picked up some orange (the fruit) lights at a sale today for $1.00. They look cute with my fruity motif in the kitchen.

Howdy! Yes - I've been away! Seems like years, but only days. Check out this gold metallic lampshade! And my other goodies I've found since I've been away! I had a weekend class, my Grandkids from Florida and my son here! Pix of that later.

And these pink melmac dishes, all for only 3.50! Then, I must have had the retro goblet gods on my side, because I ran acrossed lots of glasses this week...Oriental, but with an egyptian figure, and pastel palm tree glasses!

I also found an awesome '50's Bar B Que Cookbook, and a fondue fork set -still in the box! I also came across this "burlap brown" table cloth someone had made. They took extra special care to do the stitching and applicaid fruit!

Today is better, which it usually is if we just wait it out! I have my son here, and tomorrow his two daughters get to spend a couple of days over here with him, so I'm excited to see all of them. It's my younger son's birthday and mine is Fri. so we can all be together! I guess Jambie granted me my wish!! Meka leka hi meka hiney ho! long live jambie! Up late again...

Hello all. I have so much on my mind, I'm having trouble getting sleepy. Tired, yes. Maybe if I hadn't chipped an iceberg out of my 1946 fridge at 10:30?

Or maybe it's the big dinner at Mom's? Plus the homemade strawberry shortcake? But - one thing I know is really on my mind, that I haven't really shared with all of you yet. Ya see, I didn't get to go out of town this weekend as planned. I had the car checked over, and the oil changed, tires rotated, etc. and they found massive amounts of brake work that (they say) totals around $700.00! Of course, I will get a second opinion, but jeez Louise!The worst part is that I felt like I let Mick down by not making it to the Casablanca. Because, I have two boys of my own, and he feels like a son to me, and because I am fairly new to all the blogging stuff, and he is the first few that I have come to know and like...but it sucked.

Then, there is the fact that my two older granddaughters are here from Florida. They moved about a year ago, and I haven't seen them. I used to have them almost every weekend, before "mom" decided to take them to a place far far away. So, since they are staying with their uncle, I feel that I have to "make appts" to see them. I hope I'm just tired and delusional, but it seems like they are purposely delaying me seeing them. Granted, their Dad -my youngest son- has had issues, but I wanted to always be there for them. Maybe tomorrow will be a brighter day..right now it's getting ready to storm, winds blowing and thunder and lightening.
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down....
